Free Daily Curriculum Planner

As we go into our last week of the 2014-2015 school year, I am already planning ahead for next year.  I have summer science all mapped out already, so I am free to look even farther ahead.  Which is good, because we’re doing unit study next year, a new venture for us, and I have to plan all our subjects but math around Asian, African, and Oceanic countries.  I am a bit overwhelmed, because there is so much I have to make sure gets included.  I’ve got a good start on China, though, so I’m at least starting to think it’s doable.  Yeah, it would be easier to find a unit study to purchase, but I’ve always planned school myself, and I’m. Not. Giving. Up. Now.

Talk to me again in three weeks. haha

One of the resources I utilize during this planning stage is a Daily Curriculum Plan worksheet I made up myself.  It helps me map out everything I’m going to do for each day, and yes, I fill one out for every subject for every day. What I love about this worksheet is that I can plan with it in April, then in September I can open up to that page in my Teacher Planner binder and know exactly what to do that day without thinking, “Oh no, what did I have planned for this subject today?!”  It rocks.  I do a weekly planner, too, but this worksheet is as detailed as I need it to be, with book listings and pages to read, worksheets to utilize, projects to do, what I want to discuss in detail, and any powerpoints or websites I think will further the lesson.  Planning in detail now saves me headaches later.

And I always do it in pencil because, invariably, at some point I will change it.

To celebrate my jump on next year’s curriculum, I thought I’d offer my readers a freebie pdf of this awesome planning worksheet.  If it helps you keep things straight as much as it does me, I am glad to have saved you some hassle.  It’s a two-page document, because that makes it easier for 2-sided printing, and saving paper is saving trees.  The link is below, and it should download automatically.  Happy planning!
